With seven  branches to serve you, Burlington Public Library is right in your neighbourhood. The library offers great programs for people of all ages and abilities and a wide variety of items to borrow - including iPads, video games, eReaders, and eBooks. You can access the library’s online subscriptions anywhere there is Internet to stream music, watch indie movies, read popular magazines - and get up-to-date information for your research questions!

A Burlington Public Library card is free for people who:

·         live, work, or attend school in Burlington

·         pay property taxes here

·         live in Halton Region

Once you sign up for a library card at your local branch, you can use it at any BPL location!  Do you have your card yet?

How to Get a Card in 2 Easy Steps

  1. Download and complete the online registration form (pdf). Fill in the blank spaces, and print page one of the form. Parents need to sign forms for children up to and including grade 8.
  2.
  3. Take the completed form into the nearest library branch. Bring along your Ontario driver's license or two pieces of identification, one with your current address. If you work or go to school but don't live here: bring proof  of employment or enrolment. Students may present a student card, YMCA card, birth certificate, current report card, or Social Insurance Number (SIN) card.
For those who have a card, library cards expire every two years from date of issue. Come into the branch to renew your card or contact any branch location for more information.
